My name is Geoff, and I’m glad to meet you! I’ve been programming all my life, starting when I was very little learning basic, C, and C++ from my Dad and then later moving onto Ruby, Rails, React, C#, Go, HTML, CSS, SQL, and Vue. I studied electrical engineering for three years in college until I decided that I enjoyed math more and ended up graduating with a B.S. in applied mathematics. Since then I’ve had the opportunity to work in a number of different roles including retail, law enforcement, sales, and management. I’ve learned to hire, teach, train, and ran a $30 million per year business.
Recently I’ve been working at Radial Development Group as a lead software developer. It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. In my current role I get to spend a lot of time working on creating web apps as well as some natives apps and firmware. I also get to help my friends and teach people about different ways of approaching problems. My go to language at the moment is Ruby on Rails because it has so many fantastic tools all rolled together, but I find myself very much enjoying my work in Go as well. If there is one thing that I have learned it is that you can do just about anything with any language, but there are languages that are a better fit than others depending upon what you are working on.
